I'm looking for alternatives to SolarWinds NPM as it is expensive for my budget and has poor performance.
Please share your suggestions and why you recommend choosing another solution.
H5 has developed a solution that provides to the network administrators a business visibility via simple intuitive and complete views. H5 relies on a proven and standardized model which is easy to implement and with a low TCO (total cost of ownership).
The H5-Flow unit main feature is the real-time collection of the NetFlow and/or sFlow records of the network. Many types of active devices have the capacity to extract specific information from the application network flow such as the packets number and bytes transmitted by the server, client and application. It is also possible to configure the network devices to format and send this information to the H5-Flow appliance in accordance with two industry standards : > NetFlow,> sFlow.
The H5-Flow appliance collects these records, stores and aggregates them in a database on the fly. The information network flow can be viewed and used through performance indicators at all times by the network teams via :> Dashboards,> Web reports,> Alarms generation when the threshold is overrun.
Based on an all-in-one upgradable architecture, H5-Flow is produced on same standard as H5-Appliance: it is a fully autonomous plug and play system.
The range of H5-Flow appliances allows network administrators to maintain 100% network visibility while the monitored traffic is constantly increasing. The H5 software works identically on all H5-Appliances. The model to be selected depends of the number of IP switching flows interfaces that the administrator wants to observe : from 50 to 200 interfaces and max 50 000 simultaneous flows for the H5-Flow-Ent (Enterprise) and unlimited interfaces and max 500 000 simultaneous flows for the H5-Flow-DC (Datacenter).
H5-Flow-Ent, 50 to 200 interfaces & max 50 000 simultaneous flows, for SMBs and Enterprises.
H5-Flow-DC, unlimited interfaces & max 500 000 simultaneous flows, for Datacenters and Core networks.
Site24x7 is a SaaS-based all-in-one monitoring solution that offers network monitoring(https://www.site24x7.com/netwo...) along with network traffic monitoring to monitor NetFlow in one single console. Site24x7 offers automatic network discovery and monitoring for all key network metrics along with custom SNMP monitoring to monitor metrics of your choice.
Unlike Solarwinds NPM, you can automatically discover and monitor Layer 2 network maps and add your devices from there. You can also map your entire network topology and obtain better visualization using a Network health dashboard, exclusive discovery reports, inventory reports, custom reports, and custom dashboards.
Manage your network issues right on time with processed SNMP trap messages that you can receive via e-mail, SMS, voice calls, or even third-party tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams.
Since it is deployed on the cloud, you can scale as you grow which you cannot expect in an on-premises product. Additional 100 Network Interfaces are priced at $50/month.

You can check riverbed or our Saas solution https://rufusforyou.com. You have several alternatives but it depends if you need network monitoring, infra, a solution like apm. Also if you are low on budget and depending on your platform and other thing for example sql server or oracle you can find alternatives. You have oppmanager, you can use wireshark etc if you use linux most of the os has build in monitors and if you know scripting you can take the data from the linux os monitors.
Hi Vijay,You can check out InfraonIMS (https://www.everestims.com/inf...)Also, can you share some details on your IT Infra & current challenges being faced ? Thanks,Abhirup Sarkar.
I work at a university (size: 5000-10000).
At the moment, I'm looking at SolarWinds NPM and Riverbed NetIM. Can you please share with me the main differences between these two solutions?
I appreciate your help.
With the security issues associated with SolarWinds - are people switching to other vendors? Which ones are you switching to and why?
