Which would you recommend and why?
AvePoint Cloud Backup for MS Office 365 is a SaaS backup whose features include secure storage and unlimited and automated backups. The storage is saved in AvePoint’s Azure storage or it can also be saved on the user’s side. AvePoint was used in our organization to provide secure backup for email users. The solution not only gives backups but has an admin portal and user management. Overall, we are happy with its performance.
AvePoint Cloud Backup is great for medium to large businesses. Its most important features are its reliability and security. On the downside, the system is not as fast as its competitors.
Veeam Backup and Replication is a system to deliver secure availability for multiple environments. It provides continuous data protection, reliable application-aware, image-based backups. This includes cloud, virtual, physical, and Kubernetes. They feature a simple-by-design management console. They have unlimited capacity and offer reduced costs for long-term data retention. They also feature applications for SAP HANA and Oracle.
Veeam can recover instantly for Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and NAS. Another feature we like is that you can recover individual files at VM and file levels. Finally, Veeam provides easy portability and recovery to Azure, Azure Stack, and AWS. Their support is responsive and has extensive documentation.
Despite all the great features of Veeam Replication and Recovery, it has a few downsides. The platform should simplify moving backup storage from one device to the other. Additionally, the starting time of the management console is slow. Finally, it would be great to be able to monitor backup jobs.
In our opinion, Veeam is a superior solution to AvePoint. The flexibility of the solution and its support for multiple platforms are its best advantages.
