Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"Stability-wise, it's really good. When it comes to backend automation, it's amazing.""The training available in UiPath is really awesome and the material makes you automation-ready so that one can work on real-time projects.""UiPath has enabled us as an organization to perform an array of tasks with more proficiency and efficiency. Automation is very important to our organization now and UiPath has played an immense role.""The most valuable feature is the simplicity of the Studio software.""You can scrape data into your tables, then easily transform it or convert it between formats.""There are a number of activities available in the UiPath Studio, which are enough to automate all types of tasks.""I'm not worried about the stability of the product. If others are using it in the cloud with much more complicated processes than we are automating, it's not really a concern of mine.""The most important part of Studio is the debugging feature. It gives you the ability to watch local variables, as well as highlight elements as it is moving through the process. The results of actions are displayed and indicate whether particular actions are performed successfully or not."

"It has improved our organization with more automation within the business departments and less administration and development in the IT department. Usually, as the IT department, we are the bottleneck for many requirements within the business. With this tool, the business departments are able to perform many task themselves.""'ve only had a few cases where I've had to request support in the past 12 years of use, but the support response time and resolution were was extremely quick.""It helped us reduce manual steps.""The ability to clone jobs to shorten the time it takes to implement a process has been invaluable, but its flexibility also gives us the ability to create a job that can handle a multifaceted process with a complex workflow.""VisualCron is a very powerful program to automate different steps in your business processes. We use it to automate replacing files and inform departments about the replacement."

Cons
"A self-coding robot can be a very useful tool in the future.""The first area that needs improvement is backward compatibility.""We have not seen it do OCR, and that would be helpful. Right now, the tool will not read a PDF file, and we can't use PDF files. We want it to able to take an image, then take that image and put the particular field out in the right spot in a table. We have not seen it where you can scan a document in, then it reads fields and places those in a table.""What we have in mind in terms of what the robots could do for us is significantly more than what UiPath does now, but it takes more work. From my perspective, there is just a wide scope of implementation that goes beyond what we're starting right now. That is essentially the improvement.""Since we've been with them, they've changed their licensing structure. It would be nice to have one set structure where they're not changing the structure on us because we were set with what we had, but now we are changing. I understand there's a lot of changes and reasons for it.""If you don't change the name of the activity manually then you will lose some information during logging. It would be useful to put a simple incremental ID on each activity, so even if you don't change the activity name, you will know where the process becomes stuck.""The API integrations need improvement. They should build a better framework for the ability to integrate with other external APIs.""UiPath could work towards more engagement on the community practice side. Some of our people are having a hard time understanding how to make sense of the data that UiPath puts out."

"Our suggestion to make it better and more manageable in terms of GDPR: Implement it in a very partnership way.""I would like for VisualCron to expand audit log to show who changed job variables that are initialized per job run.""VisualCron seems to operate like an efficient machine when it comes to improvements and enhancements and new features. I always appreciate the quick response I get when bringing up an issue or coming up with suggestions. I've mentioned before that it would be great to see a move away from SQLCE and XML configuration files.""The error timeout and info could be better. When making web request calls, it will time out sometimes and we won't get any useful info out of the error response.""There are some conditions in the mail trigger, but you can only use them as an "AND" condition, not as an "OR" condition. This is an improvement that could be useful. For example, some people put "invoice" in the subject and others put "invoice" in the body. If I want to make a trigger for everybody whose sending invoices, I have to make two jobs for this now."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"I am currently using the Community Version, free of charge.""The initial investment cost is expensive, but I promise you guys this will be very helpful as we can easily automate applications and our productivity has increased.""The pricing is okay, but I recommend to build a business case before going live. Ensure that you really use the license and building the robot makes sense. Try to think of multiple use cases, because one license can be used for several robots.""Price-wise, it is not the cheapest one on the market, but it provides the fastest automation and the best training that I have ever seen for RPA, through the UiPath Academy.""Overall, I think that the pricing is reasonable and it is similar to competitors.""The pricing for the robots is fair. One thing that annoys us a little bit is that we have to pay for each developer. With Blue Prism, you can have 20 developers and not incur any additional costs. We don't like having to piecemeal all these different licenses. It is providing value, but it is not in the sense of a robot. You're paying for the tools, whereas other people just give you the tools, and then you pay for the bots.""This solution is not cheap but the price is worth it because by following the documentation and using the support, you get good robotic processes that are stable.""If you purchase an Orchestrator then it's pricey but you receive the benefit that it runs many processes simultaneously."

"ROI is 95 percent.""ROI is one month.""The pricing is extremely fair, and because of that I recommend purchasing multiple instances to split out the processing load across multiple application servers.""We are fine with a rather cheap setup. Licensing with VisualCron is fair. You have a simple one-year licence in different sizes. There isn't a licensing jungle with hundreds of options and opt-ins."
