We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The solution is stable.""The initial setup is simple.""This product has QoS, decent visibility of what's going on, and it's a managed switch.""You can connect from the dashboard itself. It is very easy to operate.""Provides good statistics and it doesn't require teaching command lines.""It is easy to set up and easy to monitor. It is also easy to check the status of the switch.""Easily installable, with good scalability, stability and technical support.""The cloud part of Meraki Switches is very good. They also have a good GUI. It's a complete solution. I like the switching and the monitoring part."

"I think they have very strong routers because they have multiple processors. I like its easy configuration with applications. For example, configuration with Linux, Iptables, and routing protocols.""The solution is stable.""We've enjoyed the fact that it has very good performance.""This equipment is resilient and available at a good price.""We have not had any downtime with it. It has been a solid performer that way.""We make use of a script that will automatically re-route traffic when connections are slow.""The stability is good.""This is a good solution."

Cons
"The solution does not fit all use cases.""Mandatory maintenance is an area that needs improvement.""The throughputs, especially the throughput path, can be improved on the core switches. I think they should improve the throughput in the core switches to enable higher throughputs.""Their subscription model could be better. Some of our customers prefer a one-time payment to a monthly or yearly subscription model, so they don't buy the product. Technical support could also be better.""Clients are very confused by technical support. They seem to have trouble reaching Meraki to get the assistance they need.""I don't think that the cost is a problem, but sometimes the price requires convincing the customer of the value.""It would be great if they can get the price down for small businesses.""We had some dashboard licensing issues, maybe because their method of collecting data from the user needs to be more streamlined."

"The biggest thing that needs improvement is the support.""There needs to be better support for this solution in India. We have no local support.""The solution needs to improve its security firewalls and mirror that of, for example, Sophos, or FortiGate.""The initial setup can be a bit difficult. The configuration can take a lot of time.""The solution needs to offer better documentation.""The Soft-GRE support needs to be improved.""There are limitations to how many users you have simultaneously.""I would like to see a cluster feature added, where multiple devices can be configured and managed as one. One is in a standby state while the other is active, and if one fails then the other takes over."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"I don't have an issue with the price of this solution.""The solution is a bit on the pricey side.""They can get the price down for small businesses. The way I bought it, I paid hardly anything, and I got all my licensing with it. The firewall appliance is around $900, and the switches are around $150. This is for the device itself. For licensing, I signed at $70 or something like that for the switch. Technical Support is included in this.""This product is quite expensive.""We paid for our switches outright, at a cost of between $15,000 USD and $18,000 USD.""The pricing is high and it is where we get the most pushback from customers.""The licensing is purchased on a one, three, five, and seven year basis.""The pricing is overvalued in relation to the product's performance."

"In terms of the economic side, we're completely satisfied. The price is affordable for both SMEs and enterprises.""This product is cheaper than competing products by other vendors.""There is a one-time license fee for the use of this solution and it is less expensive than Cisco products.""Pricing is not an issue.""There are not any external or hidden costs.""The price-performance is great.""MikroTik is very cost-effective and quite good for the price. It performs very well. For one of our customers, the existing setup comprises Cisco Catalyst switches, and it is about 10 to 15 years old. We're looking into upgrading in a cost-effective way to get the performance and yet still be at par with the quality and expectations that customers have from Cisco. Price-wise, Cisco is really expensive, and customers are expecting something different than Cisco so that they can save on IT costs. They don't have the same budget that they had before when they installed Cisco products. That's why they're looking for a solution that can provide performance and features without too much money or investment. We're looking at some alternative brands, such as NETGEAR and MikroTik, to support our proposal.""The main reason we use this solution is for the price — it's very cheap."
