We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The deployment is quite simple and pretty straightforward.""It basically helps us. We have to stay in compliance with certain issues with some of our customers. We have to have these types of tools in place for protecting our network and our data. We're in the aerospace industry, so we have a lot of defense contracts. So, all those guys will make sure that we're protecting their information, and it does a good job in that aspect.""The most valuable feature is that this solution is more secure than others, and there are more applications and features as well.""It is nice to be able to monitor and to have notifications.""You can have all of the logs from servers to network and it gets sent out to the correct owners. This is very helpful.""The reports that you can run are really nice.""The reporting is great. Everything you need is in the report for you already."

"On the Varonis side, technical support is phenomenal. Their ability to explain is very good, and they seem to be very knowledgeable. When I get an alert that doesn't quite make sense, they dive in there and kind of take me through it. That's very useful and very good. There are some false alerts, but it is better to have a false alert than no alert at all.""That alerting and reporting service is great."

Cons
"The graphical interface could be made easier to use when you are connecting to different network equipment.""It takes a little bit of time for Log360 to actually learn your environment.""The support needs improvement.""Most times log sheets are not assigned well.""The matter of the data retention needs to be addressed.""Their technical support should be improved.""We can log in as a local user, and it's fine, but when we login with an Active Directory user, we cannot."

"We have Microsoft Office 365. I just saw an article today which says that they're actually getting integrated with Microsoft Office 365, which would be a useful feature. For user-based reports, log on activity, and stuff like that, it doesn't seem to really be present like Log360. That could just be my inexperience with it. I've been dealing with it for only about two and a half months.""The GUI should be more functional. There should be a process for connecting through Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"There is a cost for each feature used.""Its pricing is definitely huge compared to some of the other SIEMs. Its price should be improved."

"Licensing is on an annual basis. Maintenance and renewal fees are separate. Varonis Datalert is quite expensive."
