Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"This is a stable platform and we did not encounter any big problems.""The flexibility to use already-developed components is really good. You can use it for Excel-related operations and other things.""The OCR was quite stable and flexible.""Provides valuable tools working in integration with RPA tools.""The ability to script information from websites is most valuable. It also seems to be fairly robust and reasonably easy to manage on a server-based deployment. We have a number of robots operating on the central server.""The pricing of the solution is quite good.""It is stable and scalable.""The drag and drop functionality is quite good."

"We use Kryon Studio to develop new wizards and we use the features to capture elements from the screen and automate processes... The screen capture allows us to interface with systems which don't have an API, or where the API is very expensive, and it allows us to do on-screen integration.""Attended automation has diverted 34 percent of training calls to our tech support centers.""We have been using Kryon Process Discovery for about a year now. With our initial tests and monitoring just a couple people, we were able to identify 79 possible use cases within a one-month period.""The bot is typically about twice as fast as a person and more accurate, as long as the data going in is good. That is the biggest advantage."

Cons
"I would like to see them further enhance the OCR, specifically in the multi-language support.""Its documentation is not widely available on the web. They should work on the availability of its documentation. In Automation Anywhere, there is a feature called Discovery Bot that automatically records the process steps and suggests a possible bot. I am not sure if such a feature is available in Kofax. If it is not available, it will be very good to have this feature. ""The process discovery could be a bit better.""The product needs more AI capabilities.""It needs a free training portal for anybody on the internet to use so that they can get an idea of what the possibilities are.""The solution could use some AI integrated features.""The solution needs to be scalable.""Exception handling needs to be improved."

"With the customer support, there have been some times where we have had to go through explaining the issue a couple times because it has gone through a couple of people's hands. There have been a couple of scenarios where we have had to re-explain the issue and bring somebody new up to speed on what is going on or what the problem is.""We have found some difficulties regarding the integration with legacy systems where the screen has elements in the Hebrew language. The connection to Hebrew, right-to-left systems, is more challenging.""The only unstable part is Studio where you build this stuff. In our version, the 5.25. It has a memory leak. If you leave it open for too long, eventually it just freezes. Saving your work, closing, and opening it just once a day is all it takes. However, this is a bug that I have noticed about the stability of the actual tool.""I have seen some very minor occurrences where Kryon's interactions with Microsoft Office might cause the robot to hang. However, it is about one to two percent of the time where we are seeing this happen. It is such a small percentage that it's not even something that we are overly worried about. This would be where they might have some stability issues, but it could be the Microsoft Office API or how they are interacting together."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Price is not a problem, because they are a competitor and we have a special rate."
  • "I don't have complete insight at this point in time, but I would guess that Kofax is a lot less expensive than Automation Anywhere. I would expect its license to be on a yearly basis."
  • "Its pricing is reasonable given the product capabilities. Kofax has a wide range of products, and it can sometimes be confusing to understand which capabilities come with which product set. One of the key facets that we've been looking into recently is cognitive document recognition that was a core pile of some of their other technologies such as Kofax transformation modules (KTM)."

  • "They license per robot and we have 25 robots. You get so many robot licenses and can allocate those licenses to either attended, unintended, or Process Discovery bots. If you have 25 licenses, for example, you could have 20 automation bots and five process discovery. This allocation is flexible. There are also maintenance costs."
  • "We are probably saving $6000 to $8000 a month in labor costs. It's not a ton, but we're right around $60,000 to $80,000 a year with our current deployment."
