We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

"What I like the most is the management system integrated with the HP system.""We have scaled it without any issues.""They are affordable and very stable. They also have good performance.""It is a scalable solution.""The speed is very fast.""The scalability is very good.""Stable and scalable.""The simplicity of the commands is most valuable. The commands are the same for several devices."

"Setting up a switch can be performed prior to having your hands on the device. Once you purchase a Meraki switch you will get an email from Meraki with a code to add to your dashboard and then you can start setting up your switch so when it arrives it will download its configuration and be all setup.""It is easy to deploy, maintain, and update. It has been trouble-free so far. I am still a Cisco command-line bigot, but the web interface makes it a lot easier for our help desk to interact with a client. When the clients call in and say that they aren't able to connect, it takes the help desk 10 minutes or less to look at everything in the enterprise or location. They can look at the firewall, switches, or access points in the dashboard. That's why I like the dashboard.""I have found the solution to be stable.""The most valuable feature about Meraki is the console. The second most valuable feature, to me, is the technical support and the infrastructure behind the console.""The most valuable feature is the ability to segment my infrastructure between phones, security systems, and other tasks.""The most valuable feature is the ability to orchestrate the network from the cloud.""You can access a single pane of glass and configure all the devices via the same access.""To me, this is a product that meets all of the needs that anyone could possibly have for a networking device."

"The solution is a bit expensive.""Technical support needs improvement, as the response time could be better.""If there is any fluctuation in power then we will face an outage with our POE switches, so this is something that should be improved.""The ability to stack, as well as a unified operating system, would be extremely beneficial.""When we have a lot of clients on the system, we lose signal and have to restart our antenna.""Installation could be made more secure.""The installation can be quite complex. However, that may not be the fault of HP and is rather more related to the way our infrastructure is arranged.""Authentication and other security features are not easily satisfied using the lower-end switches."

More HPE Ethernet Switches Cons »

"It can have better security. It needs more security enhancements, and in particular, a zero-trust element. If we could have external and internal users vetted in the same way as a zero-trust network, that will be handy.""The product demonstrates poor price per performance when compared with its competitors.""Mandatory maintenance is an area that needs improvement.""The pain point for our customers is the pricing and it should be reduced to make it more competitive.""The scalability and integrative abilities with on-premises systems could stand improvement.""The licensing model needs to be improved.""Doesn't enable a local configuration without internet access.""In terms of troubleshooting, if we get more tools there is an issue."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"All the solutions have a license for the QSFP. Additionally, there is a one-time license fee to increase the interface speed.""This is an expensive product.""It is a more expensive solution.""They are affordable and less expensive than Cisco. Their price was the decider at the time.""The price is fair.""There are no licensing costs for this solution.""The pricing is very good.""We need to pay when we buy the switch. We pay for a license to use the software, but it is not required."

"The only drawback is the cost — that's what kills them.""Meraki is a little bit expensive, but when you compare the pricing with others, Meraki is a good option.""It would be better if they had a one-time purchase option instead of a subscription model.""The licensing is purchased on a one, three, five, and seven year basis.""The solution is a bit on the pricey side.""I don't have an issue with the price of this solution.""We don't use standard licensing. Most of the time, we use the advanced security model. If there is a drawback to Meraki, it is the cost, but you also have to evaluate it based upon the other factors that you do get. Their support is really good; their hardware is really good. The ease of configuration and deployment is really good, but it is more expensive than most.""This product is quite expensive."
