Pros
"This product has additional functionality over Blue Prism Cloud Enterprise.""Ability to see the blueprint of the design executed alongside the actual process.""It is more secure for complex implementations.""Blue Prism is able to scale up at an enterprise-level. It's what I used when I was working for a big bank in Belgium.""I would say that the stability of Blue Prism is superior to any of the competing products because of the maintainability of the features and the openness of the tool.""The most valuable feature is the customizability.""The most valuable feature is security.""This solution comes with a lot of good features."

"Good core applications.""The initial setup is pretty easy.""Currently, we are mostly using the desktop part of it for data. We are basically extracting the data and then putting it in.""The initial setup isn't too difficult.""So far, the tech support has provided me with good enough support and knowledge.""In just in one click, we can see any documentation, etc., that we need. It makes it very easy to navigate.""The approval feature is the most important feature. We also use the flow history feature. It is a very useful product as compared to other products. We can automate easily when a list is updated. We can also handle approval-related issues and integrate it with emails.""It is a low-code platform. It is easy to use and good for automating small tasks such as expense approvals, timesheet approvals, etc."

Cons
"There's a need to deal with unstructured input with RPA.""The cost is a bit high. Other tools are much cheaper.""The vendor does not make their pricing clear when you are searching for it, which is something that needs to be improved.""The pricing was a bit high, from what I understand. That might have played a role in the decision to migrate to another solution.""It takes a while to get up and running.""I personally would like the solution to be supporting more languages.""The main issue is screen scraping with Blue Prism gives us a big challenge because we need to define which technologies are web-based have been built instead of by itself discovering the technology that it is built on.""Having more AI functionality would be an improvement."

"While Microsoft has a way of integrating well with itself and its own internal tools, it could do more to include external options and add them to the mix.""The issue lies more in how you learn the solution. The information is very generalized. It could be extremely useful to have more specific information about how to use various features within the platform.""There are some bugs or intermittent behavior in the Excel activities that require using workarounds.""The thing which needs the most improvement is really the documentation. It should have better details of the processes.""I need to have more integration capabilities from this solution.""I've had some issues with the stability.""When comparing with Automation Anywhere, there are a couple of things that this product doesn't have. One of the major things is the key management system. It would be great if they improve this. Its documentation can also be improved.""Microsoft shouldn't charge extra for the database license if you want to store the data in the database during the trial. We wanted to have a historical trend of the data, and we started with the trial version of the tool. The database license is not included with the trial version, and you have to purchase it separately. Because we had a budget constraint, we had to pull all the information manually from the system, massage it, and push it to the dashboard. About two months ago, we have upgraded to the full-fledged version in which the database is integrated. The database license should be there in the trial version, but they have totally decoupled it. They should have provided a bundle, at least for the trial version, so that once a person or a firm gets a sense of it, they can start building. It might be because they wanted to sell additional licenses or premium licenses, and that's why they have added it in the premium version. It should have more cognitive features. Automation Anywhere and UiPath are different because they have cognitive functionality plus intelligent automation. The cognitive functionality is currently not there in Microsoft Power Automate. It is just for workflow automation and basic bot-level tasks. It should have more cognitive features, which probably will be launched in a couple of years."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The licensing structure is complex and the minimum contract length is three years."
  • "We pay about $15,000 per quarter in licensing costs. We don't have to pay for any other extra costs. There isn't, for example, an extra cost for technical support. We just pay the licensing."
  • "There are many RPA solutions available from different vendors and the pricing for Blue Prism is competitive."
  • "Annual licensing costs were somewhere between $5,000 - $10,000 for the development tool. For the control tower, I think fees were about $50,000 annually."
