Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"I found that the REST API commands are very useful and easy to use.""The Bot Store is an online library where anybody can find variously developed, production-ready bots.""The advantage of Automation Anywhere is that you don't necessarily have to come from a programming background.""The simplicity of the tool is a plus point, as it does not require one to be from coding background to work on it.""The features I most appreciate are the built-in version control system, historical log, audit trail features, and the breadth of RPA action commands included out of the box.""Simple processes such as tracking, logging, and data consolidation are now automated, which helps us focus more on doing tasks that are impactful and more important.""Scheduling helps to generate and send reports without any delay.""I don't think one feature is more valuable than any other. In my opinion, the value is in the totality of the platform. It is easy to use for our developers with a well laid out UI and many canned tools. The Control Room is very easy to navigate and mostly intuitive to use."

"There are not many challenges when setting up this solution, and there is a good amount of documentation to go with it.""Automation Anywhere provides a very flexible UI.""From a solution standpoint, screen capture and tight integration with Outlook are valuable features.""The system is stable and very little maintenance is required, assuming the bots process is perfectly designed.""It is easy to use and very stable. It is a rugged product, and it doesn't break so easily.""The most valuable features are the portals for extracting data from PDF files, appending data to SAP, automating the SAP, downloading reports, and mapping and creating the reports accordingly to your requirements.""The solution seems to offer high stability. We haven't seen any bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze.""BotFarm has been working perfectly fine with our business model. Its scalability is the most valuable feature. We can easily scale out bots on a need basis. Portability is another valuable feature. We work with different payment systems like Visa and MasterCard and have bots for them. Because of BotFarm, we are able to reuse these bots."

Cons
"I would like to have the ability to work on a remote desktop connection, run the recording on it and use all commands.""The improvements that we could see would be the increased stability of each A2019 releases and reduce the likely impact on existing features. We are also looking to see improvements in the upgrade and bot deployment processes to make them easier and less interaction with back end servers.""As a developer or user, I feel that the performance of the overall package could be made a little better or reliable. For example, if I'm opening up a heavy Excel file, which is uploaded in some shared drive over the net, and I have my box coded to open that Excel to do some work or formatting on it, and depending on the network load and the size of the file, this client version while trying to access that file becomes unstable at times. It goes into the hang position until a human being comes in, ends the task, and restarts it. Until this happens, it does not respond.""Queues are great but need improvement. They are helpful because most of the automations are transaction-based.""The OCR component should allow integration with 3rd party OCR. This way we can use the best of breed solution along with AA or allow better control over OCR packages to be customized.""A2019 should have more improvement for developers, as it was in v11.x.""The IQ Bot has not yet succeeded in living up to its reputation due to its high cost, low ROI, and its inability to meet client requirements.""IQ Bot requires a significant improvement for its data detection and data retention, mainly from the previously trained documents: regarding the document's format, layout, data contained within the document, the type of data that needs to be extracted."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Cons »

"The OCR command needs to improve. This feature is used to convert the extracted data from an image file. While converting this file I was facing a lot of issues with the data because it was getting lost and some of the data which was extracted was mismatched. The data loss was rated as a nine and the data accuracy was a massive decrease and was up to 80%.""The deployment could be made a little bit easier.""The solution doesn't have support like they used to. They need support. We have personnel of our own, but sometimes we need assistance beyond our own team.""Although I like the OCR technology, it could still be further improved.""I have called customer service three times and the experience has not been good. They do not offer 24/7 support, which forces us to wait till the next working day to solve a problem.""The OCR tool, the optical character recognition tool, could be more efficient.""I would like to see more process mining features to give us insight into them before we develop automation.""The solution automation is incapable of interacting with our Pega software application development. It is based on the nested table concept and it is unable to read these tables. Several projects have been put on hold because of that."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"The cloud-based version comes at an increased cost, although our clients are happy with the new features and have not complained about the pricing.""The cost can be reduced a little for users.""The pricing is reasonable and one can achieve ROI faster when compared to other tools.""It is the most economically friendly and it provides you with a lot of functions.""The setup and licensing cost is affordable, and it is not exaggerated like UiPath.""Our advice is that anybody interested in this product should negotiate product bundles in order to reduce the cost of installation and setup.""Additional costs will be for the machines and the number of machines that you are using. You can deploy virtually as well as on physical machines. In both the situations, you do need to allocate a certain budget for securing the machines and where the software will be installed and running. The machines cannot be used for anything else, because only a certain bot can run at a certain time. You need to be very particular about your scheduling of running the bots, and while the bot is running nobody can use the machine. You cannot have an agent working on a machine and the bot running in the background. It has to be completely dedicated. Then there are the network bandwidth requirements and space requirements, which are additional costs apart from the licensing and software costs. The developer is also going to charge you for their coding time too.""Considering the cost, it is a bit high, but worth the price because the output accuracy is high."

"Licenses are paid on a yearly basis and the cost is quite high.""Automation Anywhere is more reasonable than Blue Prism and UiPath in terms of cost.""It is too expensive and not worth the price.""I think payment can vary but it's a re-occurring fee that needs to be paid every year.""There is a license for this solution and it is on an annual basis. I am satisfied with the price.""We pay approximately $15,000 USD per year.""The licensing is on a monthly basis.""Pricing for this solution can be better."
