Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution has good load latency. They're the market leader in this aspect right now.""It is very stable. It has good hardware and very stable code. It provides good value for its price. They are a very lean type of organization, so they are very responsive, and they're able to focus more on their platform versus having multiple products out there.""It's an extremely reliable platform for the network switches we use.""It provides telemetry and visibility for many metrics that are not supported by most of the other vendors. Out of the box, no third party solutions are needed.""The best part is the single operating system that they have. Regardless of your model, it's the same operating system functioning across the board, which means you don't have to worry about backward compatibilities between your older switches and the new ones that you deploy.""The solution is very stable."

"The most valuable feature is the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP).""The security is good.""It is easy to configure, and there are three routing switches.""Juniper switches are very good with MPLS.""The combination of hardware and software makes it a very good solution. It is a modern protocol that they have supported in the switches. The solution has good performance.""It has features that allow us to go back to previous configurations.""This is a lower cost product with better features than the competition.""I like that it's fairly easy to implement these ethernet switches."

Cons
"Its price can be better.""The solution is quite expensive. One of the negative aspects of it is the pricing.""The solution needs to improve their product range.""The community is good but is not good enough. It still needs to grow more.""The solution needs to accommodate new features."

More Arista Networks Platform Cons →

"They could improve the code, as there are some issues with it.""I would like the ability to operate with other operating systems.""The interface could be better. It needs improvement.""Its distribution channel and the ease of availability should be improved.""The management tools are limited in their abilities, and suffer from upgrade problems.""The updates are constantly breaking.""The configuration could be made simpler.""The initial setup for Juniper switches is complex. Juniper has a new program that solves that problem a little bit, but it is expensive, so I don't use it. It is Juniper Mesh, Juniper Wire, or something like that where you plug in a switch, and it goes out to their cloud, finds a config, and brings it down. So, you can do everything cloud-based, but there is a fee for that. It is expensive, so I've never used it. If we were starting, we would try to do something like that. It is more for a large enterprise for managing hundreds of switches versus what we're doing. They should make its price more cost-effective or include it for new or smaller companies."
