Good support, feature-rich, and works well from a technical perspective
Pros and Cons
  • "Cisco has a good technical support team."
  • "It would be helpful to have better information on how to implement this product."

What is our primary use case?

We are a system integrator and we are currently working on a project with a client who is using this solution. It is used for private cloud or data center virtualization.

What is most valuable?

We make use of all of the features that are available.

What needs improvement?

It would be helpful to have better information on how to implement this product.

The price of this solution could be lower.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been working with Cisco DNA Virtualization for the past two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Initially, we had some issues with stability but now it is okay.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This is a scalable solution.

How are customer service and technical support?

Cisco has a good technical support team.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We work with many different vendors for storage and security solutions. However, we have not worked with a solution that is similar to this one before.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is not easy. The difficulty comes from the fact that many customers have been working with traditional networking systems for 10 to 20 years, and the concept of Cisco DNA Virtualization is different. It means that they have to adapt.

What about the implementation team?

We handle the implementation of this solution for our customers.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Cisco products are not cheap.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, from a technical perspective, this product is good, but it could be improved with respect to pricing. It is also difficult to implement.

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Scalable with a straightforward setup and good management capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "The management aspect of the solution is its most valuable feature. Software-defined issues have been good for us. It makes the management process easy."
  • "The stability of the solution could be improved."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for our organization's local security.

What is most valuable?

The management aspect of the solution is its most valuable feature. Software-defined issues have been good for us. It makes the management process easy.

What needs improvement?

The management of the solution is quite good but could always be improved further.

The stability of the solution could be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of the solution isn't ideal. It could be vastly improved. It would help a lot.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is quite scalable. We've never faced any issues with the solution in that respect. You can expand it according to your organization's needs.

Currently, we have about 1,000 people on the solution.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've personally been in touch with technical support in the past. They're very good. I've been more than satisfied with the level of service they provide.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of the solution was straightforward. We didn't run into any complexities. For us, deployment took two weeks.

It takes two engineers to implement the solution.

What about the implementation team?

We handled the implementation ourselves. I didn't need the assistance of vendors or integrators.

What other advice do I have?

Our organization is a Cisco partner.

We're using one of the more recent versions of the solution, but not the latest one.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. If it had better stability I would have given it better marks.
